Golfers are hitting the green to make some green. It's all in an effort to remember the life of fallen solider.

Nearly three years ago, the Ruckersville community lost one of its own. Adam Fargo was killed while fighting the war in Iraq.

To make sure his memory lives on a new athletic field house was dedicated in his name. That building isn't finished yet. They need more funding.

On Monday dozens of golfers came out to the annual tournament to help raise money for the Adam Fargo Memorial Field House.

Fargo's father says he's pleased that so many people came out to golf for a good cause. He says he's happy that his son’s memory will live on through the new building.

“It was very important to me to help continue his legacy because he wasn't going to have the opportunity to do so,” said Doug Fargo.

The tournament raised about 18 thousand dollars in 2008. This year sponsors are hoping to bring in another 20 thousand to benefit the new field house.
