Just eight days away from Election Day and Democratic Senatorial Candidate Jim Webb makes a visit to UVa to rally support.

Webb spent the afternoon in Charlottesville speaking before over 200 rowdy Democratic supporters.

Flanked by 5th District Congressional Candidate Al Weed, State Senator Creigh Deeds and former Georgia Senator and Vietnam vet Max Cleland, Webb talked about the War in Iraq. He talked about the importance for the Democrats to get out and vote on election day. Webb said he expected the last few days of the campaign to be kind of ugly but he said he will keep trying to spread a positive message.

"It was inevitable that this was going to be this type of campaign. All you have to do is look at the Karl Rove era. I have been saying this from day one. We just have to get our positive message out," said Webb.

The latest polls continue to put this match-up at a statistical dead heat. A Rasmussen poll released last Tuesday shows Allen with 49 percent of the vote, Webb with 48 percent and two percent still undecided.
