This election may seem more publicized than usual because control for the House and Senate are up for grabs and some of the deciding seats are right here in the Commonwealth.

The Virginia Senate race and "Marriage Amendment" are two key issues which should bring long lines and voters to the polls, open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Historically non-presidential elections keep many voters at home with voter turnout at about 40 percent, but in Albemarle County officials are estimating 55 to 60 percent of voters will cast their ballot.

Nationwide, Republicans are spending about $30 million and Democrats more than $40 million.
