With the surprising numbers in voter turnout comes a little bit of confusion.

Albemarle County said some voters in the Northside and Earlysville precincts were unsure where to vote.

Officials said a change to the Northside precinct could be the cause. This was the first year Northside voters had to vote at the Earlysville Volunteer Fire Department.

"Some people in the Earlysville thought that they heard it was their location, but it was in fact the Northside location. That was resolved fairly quickly, and we don't that ended up being a big problem," said Albemarle County Spokeswoman Lee Catlin.

The polling site for voters in Earlysville remained at Broadus Woods Elementary School where it's always been.
