The Click It or Ticket campaign is over in Albemarle County and nearly two-thousand tickets were issued.

Several checkpoints were set up across the County, and Police say 1,812 vehicles were stopped and 1,192 tickets were issued during the two-week period from May 18th through May 31st.

Of the tickets issued, most were for speeding violations (670). Other violations include 153 inspection violations, 72 registration violations, 40 drivers who had no operator's license, and 28 drivers whose license was either suspended or revoked. 48 tickets were given to people with seat belt violations or child restraint violations.

A total of 14 DUI arrests were made and 108 vehicle crashes were investigated during the 2-week period.

Albemarle County Police were assisted by the Albemarle County Sheriffs Office and the Virginia State Police during this enforcement campaign.
