Nearly 500 local business leaders and members of the community gathered for the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce 93rd annual dinner.
Senator John Warner was the keynote speaker and he talked about his ties to Charlottesville and the University of Virginia.
The annual dinner celebrates the year long accomplishments of the Chamber and highlights the important role local businesses play in the community.
"The Chamber's main emphasis is promoting private enterprise and enhancing the quality of life in our community and that is certainly done through local businesses and local employers to provide an opportunity for people to live and work here," said Chairwoman of the Board of Directors Cathy Train.
Grace Carpenter won the Paul Goodloe McIntire Citizenship Award for outstanding contributions to the community.
