Children throughout the region will be warmer this winter thanks to a group from The Senior Center.

Children from MACAA's Louisa Head Start program sang their thank-yous to the 11 men and women, who spent all year knitting them hats and mittens. They are donating 275 this season.

"To watch the children's faces is good. Last year I had a little boy come sit on my lap. He hardly said a word, but he seemed to enjoy the whole thing," said Joann Pearson of the Crafty Ladies.

The group is looking for more knitters next year and will provide the materials.
