Bicyclists on a mission.

75 riders, ages 13 to 24, are biking over the Appalachian Mountains. Their journey will take them 1,600 miles and last about three weeks.

The group said its mission is to see how spirit moves in individual's lives to accomplish what most would think is impossible. The Christian riders said the trek helps them develop spiritually and physically.

On Monday they traveled from Front Royal, Virginia to Charlottesville. They stayed overnight at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Tuesday, their destination is Asheville, North Carolina.

They travel in 100 mile increments, with three breaks a day.

The trip has taken place for 15 years, but this is the first time the group has traveled to the Charlottesville area.
