On the second day of the Jermaine Thurston murder trial the prosecution rested and the defense began calling its witnesses.
Thurston is accused of the shooting death of Lamont Reaves during a fight on South 1st Street last year.
The defense Thursday called character witnesses and also introduced the victim's high school records in an effort to portray him as a bully.
The jury was sent home early Thursday afternoon as the defense said they had a lengthy witness to call Friday morning.
Closing arguments are expected Friday.
