City of Charlottesville Employee Arrested on Abduction Charges

An employee of the City of Charlottesville was arrested on Monday for abduction. Jerome Alphonso Pleasants, 35, is charged with felony abduction with the intent to defile.

Charlottesville Police detectives arrested a city employee on Monday, charging him with felony abduction with the intent to defile.

Police arrested Jerome Alphonso Pleasants, 35, of Charlottesville. Pleasants is an employee of the City of Charlottesville.

The Police Department’s investigation into the incident was sparked after an administrative complaint filed by the victim. Upon learning of the incident, the City’s Human Resources Department contacted Charlottesville Police.

Police arrested Pleasants and took him to the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. He's now been released Pleasants is currently on administrative leave from the City of Charlottesville.
