Car Crashes Into Home

Around 2 am yesterday police say 22-year-old Leodegario Rodriguez was driving home from Harrisonburg on U.S 250 when he fell asleep behind the wheel.

His Ford Focus plowed in to the bedroom of five -year-old Garett and three-year-old Kylie Smith.

Neither were seriously injured in the crash. The out of control car struck Garrett's bed sending him flying through a doorway into the living room.

The two children were taken to a nearby hospital, then a helicopter transferred Garrett to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where doctors closed a gash on his head. His sister was not injured.

Virginia State Police charged Rodriguez with reckless driving and driving without a license
