As the rest of the world mourns the loss of Ted Kennedy, those who knew him in Charlottesville are speaking out and reflecting on his life.
James Young is a professor at the University of Virginia. Young got a chance to know Kennedy through a recent history project. Since 2004, Young has interviewed the late senator dozens of times, and has even documented Kennedy's life in several articles.
Young says he enjoyed working with Kennedy, and he'll be greatly missed.
"For him, public service was something that he took very seriously and his driving energy and dedication was just making life a little bit better for as many people as he could," he said.
