Brownie and Junior troops from around Charlottesville met at Ash-Lawn Highland to kick off Girl Scout week. They toured the home of Former president James Monroe and learned about life on a plantation.
“They will get to take part in some 18th century activities, such as colonial cooking and playing some 18th century games,” said Colleen Evans, Coordinator of the event. “Of course we will be celebrating with some birthday cake as well as we celebrate the 95th anniversary of girl scouts.”
Visiting Ash-Lawn Highland will now become part of the badge earning process for troupes around Charlottesville.
