PVCC Gets National Honor

March 21, 2007

PVCC was named to President Bush's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll Wednesday for their outstanding volunteer work.

The program recognizes colleges and universities and their students throughout the country for exemplary community service.

PVCC president Frank Friedman said that the college’s students, faculty and staff “frequently demonstrate the ‘community’ in community college through their volunteer deeds, so we feel quite honored by this national recognition.”

More than 250 students at PVCC are currently enrolled in classes that integrate community service which they can earn credit for.
