Retired Judge Paul M. Peatross was honored by his colleagues for his years of hard work on the bench of the Albemarle County Circuit Court.

The Charlottesville Albemarle Bar Association honored the retiring judge with a resolution commending his service to the community. The honor was bestowed on him at the Bar's monthly luncheon. Peatross says to be recognized by his associates is a humbling experience.

"This was just a wonderful tribute by the Bar. I am just overwhelmed by the number of people that came and all the kind words that were said about me. I am not sure I deserve it, but I certainly appreciate it," Peatross said.

Peatross' retirement went into affect January 31st. Cheryl Higgins was tapped by the General Assembly to be his replacement.
