Annual Driving Costs Remain Unchanged

March 26, 2007

The AAA has calculated that the annual driving costs of owning and operating a vehicle have remained unchanged for the most part.

AAA calculated the driving cost at 52.2 cents per mile for 2007, or $7,823 per year when driving 15,000 miles annually. According to the study, the average fuel price dropped from 9.5 cents per mile 8.9 cents per mile.

However, savings from lower fuel costs were offset by minor increases in the costs of insurance, financing and licensing, registration and taxes.
