Brown Running for City Council Re-Election

April 25, 2007

Mayor David Brown says he will run for re-election to the Charlottesville City Council. Brown made the announcement Wednesday morning in front of City Hall.

He was elected to city council and has served as mayor since 2004. Brown says he feels the need to stay on to help guide different projects.

"I feel good about a lot of things we got accomplished my first term on city council, but most of those are works in progress, and I think there's a lot of things we need to do," said Brown.

Vice Mayor Kendra Hamilton and council member Kevin Lynch have decided not to run for re-election. Four other Democrats have announced their candidacy.
