UVa Getting New Leadership

April 27, 2007

Starting this summer, UVa will have some new leadership. Dr. Arthur Garson was named the new vice president and provost of the university, overseeing all 10 schools.

The former dean of the school of medicine promised to work closely with faculty and the board of supervisors to further distinguish the school.

"What we are going to be about is models, figuring out ways we can do things differently even better than other universities and have people say look what they are doing at the UVa," said Garson.

As the new chief academic officer, Garson will oversee the creation of the university's newest school of leadership and public policy.
