Richmond is preparing to welcome Queen Elizabeth II's first visit to an American city in 16 years with a large public showing. Excitement is high as Virginia's official Royal visit website has more than 270,000 views just in the past seven days.
The state is hosting a public celebration on May 3rd to welcome the Queen and The Duke to Richmond and to accommodate the large number of people expected to come to see the Queen.
Richmond is the first stop of the Queen's visit. She plans on visiting Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown for its 400th anniversary of the first permanent English settlement, and the Duke will also visit Norfolk.
