An employee of the Luxor Hotel and Casino was killed early Monday morning after he picked up a device that exploded in the casino parking garage.
The man was moving the device from the top of a car when it exploded around 4 a.m. on the second floor of the parking garage of the casino. Authorities say that they do not believe the incident to be a terrorist attack.
Police spokesman Bill Cassell said that the attack appears to be the premeditated murder of the Luxor employee.
"We believe the victim of this event was the intended target," said Cassell.
Cassell says another employee barely escaped injury when the device exploded. Authorities are currently investigating the case as a homicide with an unusual weapon.
