City Meets About Hillsdale Drive Extension

May 8, 2007

City leaders held a public meeting Tuesday afternoon to discuss plans to extend Hillsdale Drive. The extension is part of a six-year transportation improvement plan.

The plan calls for an extension of Hillsdale Drive from Hydraulic Road to Greenbrier Drive in order to relieve congestion on Route 29 while increasing safety on Hillsdale.

"We're looking forward to a good turnout and getting a lot of good public input," said Angela Tucker for the City of Charlottesville.

One concern is that connecting the two roads will bring too much traffic to the nearby senior center.
