Tech Panel Holds First Meeting

May 10, 2007

The panel put together by Governor Kaine to study the shooting rampage at Virginia Tech held its first public meeting Thursday.

Kaine has asked the panel for details about the gunman Seung-Hui Cho, how the events unfolded, and how the state and other agencies responded.

Kaine says it's important to find out what happened that day for the victims and to help shape future policies. The eight panelists will examine the issues surrounding the shootings, including how Cho's bought the guns he used and his mental health treatment history.
