UVa Receives Distinguished Commendation

May 17, 2007

UVa's Health System won a difficult commendation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.

The commendation comes with three-year approval from the commission because of UVa's treatment of patients with cancer. The school has ranked among the nation's top 50 cancer centers since 1999.

It's an honor that no other provider in the Commonwealth can claim. The university invests more than $94 million annually in cancer research.
