Red, white and blue were the colors of the day at Ash Lawn-Highland, but it wasn't a patriotic salute.

President James Monroe’s historic home hosted the 13th annual wine fest.

The event offered both red and white wines from 13 notable Virginia wineries and live bluegrass music.

Organizers had been planning the festival for a year.
