UVa Working On New Emergency Alert System

May 21, 2007

In light of the Virginia Tech tragedy, UVa is now working on a new emergency alert system. The new system would use text messages to send students and school workers information quickly in an emergency.

This comes after Virginia Tech officials said it was difficult for them to get in touch with students during the shootings last month.

The alert system could be up and running by July.
