Nelson County Sheriff's Investigating Murder

May 24, 2007

Nelson County Sheriff's responded to a 911 call Wednesday and found a man who had been shot to death. 51-year-old Dewey Sylvester Wood was found dead at the scene.

Authorities arrested 36-year-old Thomas Junior Turner and have charged him with first degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is currently being held at the Albemarle Charlottesville and Nelson Regional Complex.

Officials say that the incident appears to have been a dispute over money. The crime is still under investigation.
