Memorial Day Travel Expected To Rise Despite Gas Prices

AAA is projecting the number of travelers to be slightly up this Memorial Day weekend. The organization estimates that over 38 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more this holiday weekend.

That's a 1.7 increase from last year. Of those traveling over 850,000 are expected to Virginians. Holiday travelers can expect to see gas prices around the national average of $3.23 a gallon for regular, up 37 cents from last year.
