Slow down, driving more than 60 mph is like paying an extra 20 cents per gallon for gas. Clean out your car. A heavy vehicle uses more fuel.
"Well it looks like I'm going to have to car pool to work and everything. I'm not going to be able to afford gas much longer, something got to give man, something got to give cuz if you really look at it we is only working just to get back and forth to work we don't have enough money to enjoy it" said one local driver.
AAA expects families to spend about $874 this year on gas when taking summer road trips.
