Kaine Waits For Advice Concerning Guns On Campus

May 31, 2007

Governor Tim Kaine said that he will await the Virginia Tech's panel recommendation before making a decision on whether to allow people with permits to bring firearms on campus.

Kaine says that he's left the issue up to the presidents of Virginia's state supported colleges and universities. So far no school has thought of allowing people with permits to bring guns on campus.

The panel is expected to report the findings of their study to Kaine late this summer. Kaine says that if the panel does recommend allowing guns on campus that he would consider it.
