This weekend, thousands are coming to Charlottesville for the NCAA regional baseball tournament and that means thousands of dollars will be spent here at local businesses.

The announcement was made on Monday, and soon afte,r employers began calling in extra staff to get ready hoping "take me out to the ball game" will turn into "take me out to the downtown mall".

"Everybody's very excited, and we're no different because not only are these people going to come and do business initially, but they are going to be introduced to this wonderful place and maybe return to take part in tourism, or return to do business or return and send their friends at a later time and possibly this will feel on itself, so we are very excited about this," said Jay Crawford with the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce.
