Satyendra Huja, Holly Edwards and Mayor David Brown have been selected as the democratic candidates for Charlottesville City Council.

Charlottesville democrats nominated three out of the five people to run for each seat on the city council on Saturday.

This year, three spots are open. Russ Linden of the Charlottesville Democratic Party said there are many issues facing the city he hopes democrats can help make better.

No word on who Republicans will nominate. So far, no one from that party has announced they will run.
