Virginia might be known for its grapes, but in Greene County, the strawberry was the fruit of the day.

The annual strawberry festival was held at United Methodist Church in Stanardsville and featured the famous strawberry breakfast and strawberry shortcakes.

There was something for everyone in the family from gospel singers to face painting and even cloggers.

"We just like to do this type of thing together as a church group its gets us together more socially and it gets the community together," said Frank Demko, a church member.

All proceeds from today go to Habitat for Humanity, the Greene County Food Bank and international mission efforts.
