It's a day they've been looking forward to for years. Hundreds of central Virginia students celebrated their graduation on Saturday.

One by one, the grads filed onto the field at Monticello high school.

Graduate Kay Harding says she feels a mix of emotions.

The graduates waited for their name to be called to receive their degree while proud parents cheered them on.

Graduate Robert Chisholm says it feels amazing and he's happy. Katie Albert says she's just happy to be done.

As for what's next, we asked several students. Some are headed to college, others to the Marines, and others are happy to be finished with high school.

Graduate Chiquay Burton wanted to say hi to her family, including her father who was not able to attend Saturday's ceremony.

Saturday was graduation day for several area high schools including Monticello, Greene, Orange, Madison and Albemarle.
