Albemarle County Republicans pledged allegiance to the flag and pledged support for local Republican candidates.

The annual Flag Day cookout, held in McIntyre Park Monday night, gave local Republicans a chance to give last minute support before Tuesday’s primaries. The issue taking center stage was illegal immigration.

The speakers included Albemarle Sheriff hopeful Chip Harding, Clerk of Court candidate John Dawson and Board of Supervisor incumbent Ken Boyd.
