Albemarle County Police awarded two locals Monday for using their seat belts.
The Saved by the Belt Award is given to people who have been involved in serious car accidents and have survived because they were wearing their seat belts. This year's recipients were involved in a three-car wreck back in January.
"It's really nice that they went to the extra trouble to do that and to try and put forth the word to get people to buckle up and actually save their life," said seat belt award recipient Patricia Brown.
During Albemarle County Police's recent Click it or Ticket Campaign, 56 people were stopped for not wearing their seat belts.
