Webb And Warner Make Court Recommendations

June 13, 2007

Senators Jim Webb and John Warner have made their nominations for the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals bench vacancies.

The final recommendations were sent in a letter to President Bush Tuesday. Bush will make five nominations for the federal appeals court openings, which will then be forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.

Webb and Warner have recommended Virginia Supreme Court Justices G-Steven Agee and Donald Lemons, Charlottesville attorney Thomas Albro of Charlottesville, U.S. District Judge Glen Conrad, and University of Richmond law professor John Douglass.

Right now the court only has three vacancies but two other judges have already said that they plan to take senior status which could potentially bring five openings. Besides Virginia the circuit includes West Virginia, Maryland, North and South Carolina.
