A group of students from UVa School of Architecture are showing off its innovative designs for an 'urban boulevard' on Route 29.

The plan includes a pedestrian walkway and crosswalk at Dominion Drive. It connects both sides of the roadway without disturbing the traffic flow.

The walkways continue into residential neighborhoods and would allow the restoring of wetlands.

The group is hoping area planners will take notice.
