Man Arrested In Ice Cream Truck Shooting

July 8, 2007

Charles County officials have arrested a suspect in the killing of a teen who was shot while riding in her family's ice cream truck.

Kevin Mark Warren, of Waldorf, Maryland, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, armed robbery and the use of a handgun in the commission of a felony.

He is accused of firing several shots into the truck last month during an attempted robbery. Thirteen-year-old Briona Jasmine Porter died after being hit in the back.

A warrant was issued June 30th for Warren's arrest. He was taken into custody last night after sheriff's deputies, acting on a tip, stopped a truck he was riding in.

Warren is being held without bond at the Charles County Detention Center.
