A driver lost control of his car Monday and ended up pinning a man between a gas pump and his car after slamming in to a gas station.
Police say that a medical reason may be to blame for the accident. Albemarle County Police say the driver of an SUV lost control of his car while driving south on Seminole Trail and veered toward a gas station.
Meanwhile a man pumping gas at that gas station was temporarily pinned between the pump and his car when the two cars collided. Police say the accident could have been much worse if not for the quick reaction of the gas station employees.
They quickly shut off the power to the pumps. The victim who was struck is listed in serious condition at a local hospital. The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital.
