Nighttime Delays Possible On I-64

July 9, 2007

Drivers traveling east on Interstate 64 this week may encounter some nighttime lane restrictions in both directions from Charlottesville to the Louisa County line due to a bridge cleaning.

VDOT has contracted out some crews that will work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on the following bridges between mile markers 123 and 132.

Monday, July 9: Eastbound I-64 at Beaverdam Creek and at Mechunk Creek between mileposts 130 and 132 near the Albemarle/Louisa County line.

Tuesday, July 10: East and westbound at the locations listed above.

Wednesday, July 11: Westbound I-64: same location as above.

Thursday, July 12: Westbound near milepost 123 at the bridge over the Rivanna River and CSX Railroad.

VDOT says that drivers will alternate between left and right lanes and pay attention to traffic control signs as they approach work zones.
