McCain takes Blame for Campaign Woes

July 13, 2007

Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain said he is responsible for his weakened campaign.

In an interview with New Hampshire Public Radio, McCain took the blame for a nearly broke campaign that has undergone two major staff shake-ups in a week.

The campaign raised 25 million dollars in the first half of the year, but has spent nearly all of it. Officials say the campaign will report by Sunday to the Federal Election Commission that it has two million dollars on hand and more than one million dollars in outstanding debt.
