Police Arrest Suspects In Carmike Robbery

July 26, 2007

Albemarle County Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the armed robbery of the Carmike Theater last year.

Police arrested two 18-year-olds who were juveniles at the time of the crime. After an 11 month investigation police were able to charge the two men with one count each of felony embezzlement.

Authorities say the robbery had been staged so that the two men, who were employees at the time, could embezzle from the business.

Officials say the investigation in to the robbery is continuing and are asking anyone with information about the case to contact Detective Sean Reeves at 434-296-5807 or crimestoppers at 434-977-4000.
