UVA's Local Economic Impact

July 26, 2007

Economists with UVA's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service released a new study that shows the overall economic impact of the university.

The University and it's students put over one-billion dollars into the Charlottesville and Albemarle County economy in 2005.

Local spending by the university itself totaled close to $800 million.

This was the 4th economic impact study conducted by UVA.
