Nike Suspends Vick Contract Reebok Ceases Jersey Sales

July 27, 2007

Nike and Reebok have decided to stop selling some Michael Vick products following the arraignment of the Atlanta Falcons quarterback's arraignment.

Nike says that they have suspended its contract with Vick and will pull merchandise with his name off the shelves at stores the company owns.

The company says that they have not terminated the contract. Animal rights activists had urged the company to do so after Vick was accused of being involved in an illegal dogfighting ring.

Reebok, the official uniform supplier of the NFL, said that they will stop selling Vick's replica jerseys at retail stores and through its website.
