House Approves $1.5M To Help Fight Gangs In Virginia

A spending bill approved by the House includes $1.5 million for the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force.

Republican congressman Frank Wolf says he helped secure the money.

The Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force is made up of law-enforcement officials on the local, state and federal levels. It was formed in 2003 and includes 14 counties and cities from Alexandria to Winchester.

The funding bill for the Department of Justice also includes $700,000 for the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force in the northern Shenandoah Valley.
