UPDATE: Local DJ Identified as Parkway Shooting Victim
One of the victims in the Blue Ridge Parkway shooting has been identified as Tim Davis, a DJ on WNRN known on-air as DJ Prolapse. Davis and the female victim, who has not been identified, remain hospitalized.

WAYNESBORO, Va. - As authorities continue the search for the Blue Ridge Parkway shooter, they are piecing together Monday night's events and are learning more about the victims.
Police say the Monday night shooting of two people watching the sunset at Rock Point Overlook still appears to be random. The Augusta County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation, and officials said they've been following up on a handful of leads in the case.
One of the victims was 27-year-old Tim Davis, a radio personality on WNRN known on-air as DJ Prolapse. Davis, who has muscular dystrophy, is in critical condition at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
An 18-year-old female who was with Davis was also shot and remains in the hospital.
The shooting took place around 7:30 p.m. Monday at Humpback Rock and the Rock Point Overlook, near the border of Nelson and Augusta counties. Authorities said a white man in his 50s with thinning gray hair fired at the pair, apparently at random, as they watched the sunset.
Sheriff Randall Fisher of the sheriff's office said the two victims, who he said were good friends, met at the Fashion Square Mall on Monday and decided to watch the sunset at the Rock Point Overlook. At the time of the shooting, their backs were facing the road.
"She looked to her left, and she saw that her male friend had been struck. He was bleeding. And she looked further back and she saw a red passenger car. There was a male leaning out the driver's window with a long gun pointed at them," Fisher said.
The sheriff's office said both victims were struck by a shotgun blast in their upper bodies, but officials do not know how many shots were fired or how the female was injured.
After being shot, Davis fell nearly 150 feet off the overlook. It took crews about 90 minutes to retrieve Davis.
In addition to the Augusta County Sheriff's Office, officials from the National Park Service, Virginia State Police, BATF and the FBI are working on the investigation.
Meanwhile, authorities are looking into the possibility that this shooting is related to the unsolved murders of two Virginia Tech students in the Jefferson National Forest in August.
Authorities continue to ask for the public's help with any information regarding the shooting.
"This individual got on the parkway somewhere, and he got off the parkway somewhere," Fisher said. "And the parkway being a very popular spot this time of year, I'm sure somebody interacted with this guy on the parkway."
Residents in the area said they were surprised a shooting could happen along the parkway.
“This is just terrible news that we got here – shooting on a parkway, suspect's on the loose,” resident Charles Webb said. “It's just shocking to hear that because this is such a peaceful place where people come to picnic and hike and ride bikes and just have a good time."
“I think its just a random act of violence,” Webb continued. “I feel that it's nothing to worry about because if there's anybody on the parkway, I feel they'll be safe. The rangers are patrolling the area.”

They say that when those others were killed on the Park Way,they bought in to different people giving readings and one of them said the person they had locked up did not act alone,so who's to say this was his partner.That Park Way is not safe if you have someone randomly shooting people while looking at a sunset! That Park Way lasts for hours and those Park Rangers can't be every where.There is so many towns and cities you can go to on that Park Way, that man could be any where and change hair color and car.I really hope they catch him to shoot a poor man when his back was turned,that only proves he is a coward!
