Monday, shortly after entering a guilty plea in a Richmond court, Michael Vick held a press conference where he apologized for his actions.
Vick apologized for taking part in a dogfighting operation and for lying about his involvement. Vick directly apologized to NFL officials, his Atlanta Falcons coach and teammates, and children that look up to him.
Vick said that he lied because he was "ashamed and totally disappointed in myself, to say the least."
Vick called his actions immature and said he needs to "grow up." The suspended quarterback asked for forgiveness and understanding.
Vick said he used bad judgment and called dog fighting "a terrible thing." Vick finished the press conference by saying "I will redeem myself. I have to."
Vick is scheduled to be sentenced on December 10th.
