William Beebe Released From Jail

September 13, 2007

William Beebe, who sexually assaulted a UVa student 23-years-ago, was released from the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail shortly after 8 a.m.

As part of an alcohol recovery program, Beebe confessed to sexually assaulting Liz Seccuro in an email.

He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, but because the crime occurred decades ago, old parole laws were used. That means Beebe was to serve about one-third of his sentence.

He was scheduled to be released from jail on September 19th, but the jail now says he will be released on Thursday.
