Thousands of 'Hoos came out for the University of Virginia Cavalier Football team's home season opener against the Cougars of Brigham Young University.

The game started at 3:30pm, but hours before hand fans where in the parking lot tailgating, playing cornhole, and, of course, wearing their orange and blue attire.

"I just like being at the game, and seeing everyone. Everyone is all dressed up, and it's unique to UVa.," says one fan.

Scott stadium has a capacity of 61,500, and only around 3,900 tickets were left, and that speaks to the excitement surrounding the new season of Cavalier football.

Lightning delayed the day just before the end of the first quarter, and while the crowd returned somewhat thinned, those that came back were treated to winning performance by the Cavaliers, who beat BYU 19-16.
