AAA: Highest Gas Prices Have Come and Gone

April 14, 2013

Gas prices are continuing a downward trend nationwide since peaking at the end of February.

In Charlottesville, the average price at the pump for unleaded gas is $3.34 per gallon. That price is down four cents from last week and is almost 20 cents below the national average.

Auto club AAA reports the falling prices are a mix of lower crude prices, the end of spring maintenance for refineries and drivers simply not driving as much.

AAA representatives say the U.S. may have seen the highest prices of the year come and go, barring any unexpected events.
